Meet the Team

Darcy Luoma

Founder & CEO

Darcy Luoma, creator of Thoughtfully Fit®, is a Master Certified Coach, dynamic facilitator, and inspiring motivational speaker. She has worked as director for a U.S. Senator, deputy transition director for a governor, and on the national advance team for two U.S. presidential campaigns. As the owner and CEO of Darcy Luoma Coaching & Consulting, she’s worked in forty-eight industries with more than five hundred organizations to create high-performing people and teams. The media has named Darcy the region’s favorite executive-and-life coach four times. Darcy balances her thriving business with raising her two energetic teenage daughters, adventure travel, and competing in triathlons.

Craig Parsons, CEO, Palmer Johnson Enterprises

The people of Palmer Johnson Power Systems have LOVED working with Darcy over the past 5 years. We started with executive leadership coaching (including myself!). Next she coached a group of five newer managers in our 2020 Future Leaders program. We then were lucky enough to have a group of PJ’ers serve as a guinea pig for her Thoughtfully Fit program. Most recently, she facilitated a team-building session for our strategy team.

Darcy gets us. She has the ability to feel the culture of an organization & bend her approach to fit the personality and objectives of the group. The result for our team-building focused strategy session was a grand slam. She led us through a series of thought-provoking exercises that exposed opportunities to get our team more closely aligned. On a personal coaching level, Darcy has the intuition & experience to ask the right question at the right time. She makes you think, helps you ask the right questions of yourself & gives you the tools to help steer you to a plan to realize both your work & personal goals.

Truly can’t say enough about what a great coach/facilitator/person she is!

DANA HOFFMAN , VICE PRESIDENT, COMMERCIAL LENDING SUMMIT CREDIT UNION

It’s a rare person who profoundly connects with their audience and teaches some practical lessons in less than 30 minutes, yet Darcy Luoma readily accomplished both. Darcy graciously agreed to speak about resilience to our women’s business forum via a new online platform. She shared personal challenges she had faced, what she learned from them, and how we can pause, think and act to address our own difficulties. As a result, our audience asked thoughtful questions and we all learned some practical tips. Darcy’s presentation resonated deeply and it was one of the very best we’ve ever heard. I’m pleased to give Darcy my highest recommendation.

ANGELA ARRINGTON, SENIOR ATTORNEY, ALLIANT ENERGY

I have had the pleasure of working with Darcy when she was President of Wisconsin Women In Government, a civic, non-profit, organization committed to advancing and promoting careers for girls and women who desire to work in government. I was very impressed with Darcy’s leadership skills and her ability to motivate the ladies in the group to aspire to achieve excellence. Under Darcy’s leadership, WWIG enjoyed unprecedented levels of success in all realms of her Presidency. Because of Darcy’s outstanding leadership ability, I have gone to her for advice on professional matters and received nothing but great results from her. Darcy has proven herself to be a very effective and proven leader and anyone working with her will be able to see these leadership traits very quickly.

TARA DERBICK CONGER, SHRM-SCP, PRESIDENT, THE QTI GROUP

Darcy is absolutely amazing! I’ve had the pleasure to work closely with her for the past four years. She has coached many of our people, including our executive team and high potential employees. It was a great investment that helped our people grow, gain confidence and self-awareness, as well as build better relationships. If you have anyone that needs coaching, I’d recommend her in a heartbeat!

Most recently we engaged with Darcy to do some corporate training with her new program called Thoughtfully Fit. It was a hit! Employees enjoyed the four-part series which helped them increase emotional intelligence, improve workplace communication, raised self-awareness (and system/team awareness), as well as taught them how to deal with conflict in a healthy way. Many of the tools she teaches throughout the program can be used immediately in the work setting!

The combination of training with executive coaching has had a positive impact on PJ’s culture. It’s been so much that we are having four more of our managers start coaching with her in 2018. I’d highly recommend her to do both training and coaching at any company.

I’ve attended some of her speaking engagements which are fabulous. If you go, you will want more! Whether that’s coaching with her or doing some training. She’s that good! 😊

ERIK S. SONJU, PRESIDENT, POWER SYSTEM ENGINEERING, INC.

Hands down, Darcy is one of the top consultants I have worked with over the last ten years. She played a key role during a turning point in our organization that has resulted in a higher level of trust and improved communications amongst our leadership team. Her approach of individual interviews followed by a group retreat tailored to unique issues and personalities was just what we needed. Thanks, Darcy! We owe you one!

SHANNON CARPENTER, CHIEF OF STAFF TO THE CEO, SUMMIT CREDIT UNION

Darcy coached me through several transitions in my personal and professional life beginning when I was an intern in Senator Kohl’s office. Since that time, Darcy has helped me build my career from intern to campaign fundraiser to scheduler for a busy Governor to working for the President of the United States.

Darcy provides a variety of strategies which have helped me build my career and balance my life. Her coaching has been invaluable.

I would recommend Darcy’s coaching for anyone who is:

– deciding on a new job or negotiating for a raise

– attempting to define and achieve personal or professional goals

– looking to go “from good to great”

Darcy’s education, experience and attitude make her a role model and great coach. I feel lucky to have worked with her and have greatly benefited from her expertise.

PRESTON BOLLERUD, DIRECTOR OF GROWTH, NORTHWESTERN MUTUAL INSURANCE

It has honestly changed my career and how I view relationships and connections in my personal and professional life. This experience and work that we have done is so valuable and can be used almost anywhere, in any situation, with anyone. It’s worth every penny and ROI is infinite with the time, work and commitment you put into it.

JENNA (WEBER) ATKINSON, CEO, THE P5 PROJECT

I have had the pleasure of watching Darcy speak on numerous topics. She is a dynamic and engaging speaker who keeps the attention of the audience from start to finish. Our young professionals group, CONNECT Madison, had the opportunity to have Darcy as a speaker in December 2013 and she definitely did not disappoint. She had a tailored presentation that perfectly matched the needs of our audience. She was incredibly easy to work with and was one of our highest rated presenters by our members. She had a great mix of personal examples and actionable takeaways. I would recommend Darcy to any group who is looking to “wow” their audience!

TRAICI BROCKMAN, RESEARCH ASSOCIATE II, GEORGIA HEALTH POLICY CENTER

Darcy offered to provide executive coaching to our WWIG executive committee designed to help us grow as a leadership team. Darcy was thoroughly prepared for each coaching session which helped provide a roadmap of what we would focus on for each session and what we had accomplished in past sessions. In leading our team through the coaching process Darcy helped create a safe environment where our team members could be honest, thoughtful, and reflective on how to grow and improve as a leadership unit. Darcy leads with the utmost integrity, honesty, and provides true guidance to the leadership team she is coaching while allowing that team to learn how to step into bold decision-making. Any leadership team looking to engage in self-reflection and evaluation of their current leadership style should consider hiring Darcy as an executive coach to lead them through that process.

SHAWN PREUSS, MCC, OWNER, PREUSS COACHLEADER ACADEMY

Darcy is a master coach and teacher. She is also a dynamic speaker. Her zest for life and desire for others to have a fulfilling life come through in her speaking, coaching and teaching. Darcy’s own love for learning and growth keep her in the pulse of change and development. Who better to support you on your journey of growth? I have enjoyed working side by side with Darcy, creating, teaching and continuing to learn from each other. If you want impact and support on your journey I highly recommend Darcy Luoma.
