Is Your Team Struggling with Any of These Issues?
- Communication Breakdowns: Struggling to get your team on the same page, like a bad game of telephone.
- Lack of Trust: Cards are being held close to the chest and not laid out on the table.
- Unresolved Conflicts: Disagreements keep getting swept under the rug, and they’re starting to pile up.
- Stagnant Performance: Everyone is running in place on the corporate hamster wheel.
- Misaligned Goals: Trying to herd cats would be easier than aligning your team’s goals.
- Poor Collaboration: Everyone is working in silos instead of creating synergy.
- Toxic Team Dynamics: Office politics are making your team feel more like a battleground.
- Lack of Innovation: The last team brainstorm was barely a light drizzle.
- High Turnover: Your office has a revolving door, and it’s scary to think who might leave next.
- Resistance to Change: Attempting something new feels like pushing a boulder uphill.
- Undefined Roles: Who’s supposed to do what? Nobody knows. And nobody is talking about it.
- Overwhelm: Feeling buried under tasks and unable to come up for air.
- Stuck in Day-to-Day Tasks: There’s no time for big-picture thinking while mired in the daily grind.
- Accountability Issues: Team members are avoiding responsibility like it’s the plague.
- Post-Meeting Meetings: Important conversations are happening outside the actual meetings, creating confusion and frustration.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
These challenges are common in teams, and experiencing them doesn’t mean your team is doomed. In fact, it’s a normal part of team development. High-performing teams recognize these obstacles and take proactive steps to overcome them.
With the right support and strategies, your team can move past these issues and work together more effectively. By addressing these pain points head-on, you can transform your team’s dynamics, build a culture of trust and collaboration, and unlock your full potential.
Here’s what you can expect from
The Team Catalyst
Curious about how our Team Catalyst can transform your team? Read on to discover the six steps and what you can expect from this powerful process.
1
Discovery Call
We begin with a discovery call to understand the desired outcomes, finalize the timeline, and set clear expectations for the process.
2
Perception Collection
Once the team is informed of the retreat goals, we administer two powerful assessments, creating a safe way for team members to share their thoughts and concerns. This crucial step includes:
- Qualitative Assessment: Conducted through one-on-one interviews via video conference, this part gathers detailed insights into the team dynamics. We prepare a written feedback report outlining key themes around what’s working well and what’s hindering performance.
- Quantitative Assessment: Using the TCI Team Diagnostic survey, we measure the team on fourteen performance indicators, focusing on the productivity and positivity factors that build a stronger culture. This evaluation looks at the team as a whole rather than individual members.
3
Check-in Call
After completing both assessments, we compile the findings and design a custom agenda for the team retreat based on the results. We then schedule a call with you (the sponsor) to discuss this tailored agenda, ensuring it addresses the specific needs and challenges identified in the assessments.
4
Team Retreat
Our goal is to design an engaging and powerful full-day session that addresses the issues identified in the assessment in a positive and productive way (multiple-day retreats are also available for a deeper dive). This day-long event is an exciting opportunity for your team to:
- Increase awareness of what will help the team work better together
- Develop an actionable plan and accountability for implementation
- Create a strong foundation for future collaboration
- Build trust among team members
5
Accountability Power-up
Approximately four weeks after the retreat, the team will meet again via video conference for a high-energy 90-minute follow-up session to:
- Build on the momentum from the retreat
- Share obstacles and strategize ways to overcome them
- Create accountability for action steps from the retreat
- Identify additional action items to create a high-performing team
6
Game Plan and Strategy
The final step is to create a robust Game Plan and Strategy report, outlining specific next steps and recommendations tailored to your team. We’ll schedule a debrief/integration call with you to:
- Explore concrete ways to continue building upon the progress your team made
- Identify next steps for maintaining momentum
- Ensure ongoing development and success
The DLCC Way: Our Proven Process for Team Coaching
At Darcy Luoma Coaching & Consulting (DLCC), we follow a strategic, proven process for everything we do. This is our commitment to ensure an effective partnership and sets the stage for what you can expect when working with us. It’s what we call “The DLCC Way!”
Determine fit and desired outcome • We begin by assessing whether our team coaching services align with your goals and vision. This initial phase involves understanding your objectives, team dynamics, and desired outcomes. We work together to determine the best path forward to achieve your team’s success.
Learn current state • We conduct a thorough analysis of your current team dynamics, communication patterns, and organizational culture. This helps us identify strengths, areas for improvement, and the specific challenges your team faces. This usually takes the form of a Team Dynamics Snapshot or a Team Retreat.
Create an exceptional client experience • After gaining a deep understanding of your team, we’ll design a coaching program tailored specifically to your needs. We’ll collaborate with you to set the length of the engagement, session frequency, and necessary support between sessions. Together, we establish clear goals and regularly check-in on progress. Our customized coaching sessions are designed to be engaging, practical, and impactful. We focus on creating a supportive and inspiring environment both during and outside of coaching sessions, fostering continuous growth and development.
Conduct an intentional completion • Upon concluding our coaching engagement, we ensure a smooth transition by providing actionable insights, clear next steps, and continued support. We evaluate the outcomes and help you integrate the lessons learned into your ongoing team development efforts. Our goal is to ensure that the positive changes made during coaching are sustained and built upon, leading to long-term success for your team.

Frequently Asked Questions About
The Team Catalyst
How many team members can participate in the Team Catalyst?
This is designed for intact teams who work together in an organization with common goals and objectives. The minimum number of participants is three. The maximum depends on your team. We find that once the team gets larger than 12, there are often sub-teams within the team. However, we have worked with leadership teams with more than 20 members. The key is that all team members are present.
Can the team retreat be conducted virtually instead of in-person?
Yes! Virtual retreats are becoming more common for teams whose members are not in the same area to save on travel costs and room expenses. We love creating engaging experiences in a virtual space. However, due to the interactive nature of the retreat, we do not do hybrid retreats. We want either everyone in person or everyone online.
What if some team members are unable to attend the team retreat or follow-up session?
Every effort should be made to ensure the entire team can attend and engage for every part of the experience. We understand that emergencies might come up, but ideally, the sessions are scheduled when everyone is available.
How do you ensure confidentiality during the assessment process?
We maintain strict confidentiality throughout the assessment process. Individual responses from interviews and surveys are aggregated in the final report to ensure individual team member’s privacy.
How long does the entire process take?
The process typically spans twelve weeks, starting with the Discovery Call and ending with the Game Plan and Strategy. The exact timeline can be customized to meet your team’s specific needs.
Can the team retreat be customized to our specific needs?
Absolutely! All of our team retreats are customized for the team we’re working with. The retreat is custom-designed based on the results of the assessments to address your team’s unique challenges and goals.
Who facilitates the team retreat and follow-up sessions?
Our experienced team coaches, who are experts in team development and the Thoughtfully FitⓇ model, will work with your team during every step of the process.
What is the cost of The Team Catalyst?
The cost depends on several factors, including the size of the team, the location of the retreat, and your choice of team coach. Costs start at $12,500.
What kind of results can we expect from this process?
Teams that go through our proven process often see improved communication, higher trust levels, better alignment on goals, increased innovation, and overall enhanced performance. The process helps create a more cohesive and effective team.
So after this our team will be perfect, right?
Not quite. 🙂 This sets a great foundation for your team. This process will explore obstacles currently getting in the way of your team’s success and provide tools to be a more high-performing team in the future. But just like you can’t do one sit-up and get abs of steel, your team will need to continue discussing what’s getting in the way and how they want to move forward to maintain that success.
