Assessments are a valuable and impactful way to gain new insights into the leadership, communication skills and overall effectiveness of your employees, team or organization. They are the first step to creating transformational change!
ORGANIZATIONAL & TEAM ASSESSMENTS
Organizations often reach out to us looking for a workshop on a specific topic such as conflict resolution, team building, or how to have difficult conversations. While these can be valuable professional development opportunities for your employees, they are often done in a vacuum and therefore don’t have the impact that the organization desires.
A powerful way to increase the effectiveness of investing in your staff is to start with an assessment to uncover underlying concerns and obstacles that are often unspoken. Assessments provide a safe and confidential way for employees to share their thoughts, fears, and frustrations without fear of negative repercussions.
If you are experiencing conflict within your organization or team starting with an assessment can allow a neutral third party to learn about the conflict, and provide the team members a safe space to share their thoughts and concerns. The findings can identify key themes for consulting or team coaching.
HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?
We start with a series of confidential interviews conducted with key members of the team/organization. We then prepare a written feedback report outlining the key themes. The results from the assessment will be shared in a feedback meeting and then used as the foundation of our work together.
Individual assessments are an effective way to provide your employees/leaders with valuable feedback on how they are perceived by others. Combined with leadership coaching, it can create positive change for the employee and lead to immediate results for their team and the entire organization.
We use the Hogan 360 assessment tool to capture a snapshot view of opinions of the employee’s manager, peers, and direct reports. It provides information on their behavior, as well as their business, managerial, and leadership competencies. The results highlight strengths as well as opportunities for growth and can be used to create a development plan.
HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?
Up to twenty raters are identified to complete the assessment for the employee/leader. Raters will include the employee’s manager, peers, and direct reports to provide a complete 360 view of how they are perceived. Each rater will complete the online assessment online which includes ranking statements as well as open-ended questions where the rater can provide additional feedback. The employee also completes the assessment. While the self-assessment is not tabulated with the scores from the manager, peers, and direct reports, it does provide a point of comparison.
The score report includes an average score for each of the four competencies as well as a breakdown of each rating group (manager, peers, direct reports). The score report also includes scores on fourteen themes and provides a list of the top strengths and top opportunities for improvement. Open-ended responses are also provided.
There is a coaching session with a certified professional coach from Darcy Luoma Coaching & Consulting to go over the results in detail in order to maximize the awareness and investment.
